GRUMMAN AVENGER (JAN 1943 - FEB 1946)
TBM-3, circa 1945. Previous TBF/TBM-1C is nearly identical except for the engine (1700 HP). Color scheme and tail markings (small X) indicate this "Turkey" is from USS SAN JACINTO.
CURTIS HELLDIVER (MAR 1946 - OCT 1947)
This restored SB2C-5 currently flies with the Ghost Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF). Tail markings (diamond) are those of VB-5 embarked in USS FRANKLIN just prior to 19 March 1945.
DOUGLAS SKYRAIDER (OCT 1947 - OCT 1968)
This VA-65 AD-1 is circa 1958, assigned to CVW-2 (NE) and operated from USS MIDWAY.
CHANCE - VOUGHT CORSAIR II (OCT 1968 - MAY 1983)
This VA-25 A-7E, circa 1970, is assigned to CVW-2 (NE) operating from USS RANGER. Mk-82 500-lb bombs are on triple ejector racks on outer stations. The A-7E was similar to the USAF A-7D version, with many improvements over the A-7A/B versions.
HORNET (MAY 1983 - FALL 2012)
In May 1983, pilots from VA-25 began training in the new FA-18A Hornet. The squadron was re-designated as Strike Fighter Squadron 25 (VFA-25) on 1 July 1983. VFA-25 transitioned from FA-18A to FA-18C in 1992.
SUPER HORNET (FALL 2012 - PRESENT)
In the fall of 2012 VFA-25 completed its transition to the F/A-18E Super Hornet.
